. This website is in loving memory of our mother Mrs Jean English (formerly Latham) who had a great interest in Family History Research and died age 92 years, in Bath Feb 2013
Jean was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire in 1921. In 1927 she went to Hong Kong and lived there for 10 years. Her schools were : The Garrison School and The D. G. S. in Kowloon. She returned to England in 1937 and lived in Salisbury,Old Town Swindon and Stratton St. Margaret and went to a commercial school run by Miss Marsh.
During the war she was in the A.T.S. first at Bulford Camp and then worked as a Cipher Operator at the War Office, Whitehall, London.
Her parents Reg Latham and May Lonnon both came from Portsmouth naval families and if there are any cousins still about, we would be very happy to hear from them.
